Regulatory context
The AI Act applies in stages: banned practices and AI literacy since February 2025, general-purpose AI models since August 2025, transparency since August 2026, high-risk systems from December 2027 and August 2028. The assessment identifies exactly which obligations apply to you.

- What is the AI Act and when does it apply?
- The AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) entered into force on 1 August 2024 and applies in stages: banned practices and AI literacy since 2 February 2025, general-purpose AI models since 2 August 2025, and most other provisions, including transparency, since 2 August 2026. The Digital Omnibus Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 postponed high-risk obligations to 2 December 2027 (Annex III) and 2 August 2028 (regulated products, Annex I).
